I retired after 34 years in the Mt. San Antonio College Biology Department and continue to teach Conservation Biology during the winter intersession. I consider myself a conservation photographer and hope that my work will stimulate an interest in nature and concern for the world's vanishing species.
My primary academic interests today are in the natural history of desert and mountain ecosystems and in conservation biology. In my free time I love to camp, hike, and travel.  I traveled through the eastern half of Australia for four months as part of my sabbatical. I have also had the opportunity to travel to Africa (Kenya, Botswana, Namibia), Antarctica, Brazil, Borneo, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Galapagos, India, Madagascar, Patagonia (both in Chile and Argentina), the Peruvian Amazon, and Svalbard (the Arctic).
